The Croods, an animated family film featuring the voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, and Ryan Reynolds, is expected to debut atop the box office this weekend with approximately $42 million.
That would put The Croods comfortably ahead of another new film, the White House action-thriller Olympus Has Fallen, which starsGerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman.
It’s expected to open to roughly $26 million and second place.
Holdovers Oz the Great and Powerful ($21 million) and The Call ($10 million) should follow.
The new Tina Fey-Paul Rudd comedyAdmission is projected to earn $6 million for the #5 spot.
Spring Breakers, starring Selena Gomez,Ashley Benson, and Vanessa Hudgens as girls gone bad, is expanding into more theaters this week and is tracking toward $4.5 million and sixth place.
