The 26-year-old actress managed to escape with her boyfriend and brother, and firefighters were able to save one dog.
Ashley Greene brings her fox terrier Marlo, one of her dogs, to work with her on the set during filming in New York. One of the actress's prized dogs perished in a Friday morning blaze at her West Hollywood apartment.
Actress Ashley Greene’s West Hollywood apartment was destroyed Friday morning in a fire that claimed the life of one of the “Twilight” star’s dogs, TMZ reported.
TMZ obtained pictures of Ashley Greene's West Hollywood condo after it was destroyed in the fire.
The two men were unsuccessful, however, in their attempts to return to the apartment to rescue Greene’s two pets. By the time firefighters were able to get the fire under control, they could only save one of the two animals, and found the other dead in a hiding spot under Greene’s bed.
TMZ later posted dramatic cellphone video of Greene cradling the blanket-wrapped body of her dead pet and crying inconsolably in the building's lobby.

“The cause is undetermined," the actress's spokesperson told People magazine.
It's not clear if the deceased dog was Marlo, Greene's prized fox terrier that had often been seen carried by the actress on sets over the past few years.

Greene's building had previously been home to movie stars Mickey Rourke and Rock Hudson.
It's also not clear if the unidentified boyfriend was actor Ryan Phillippe, who was photographed leaving an L.A. hotspot in a car with Greene on Wednesday night.
The seven-story Granville Tower, where Greene had been renting her apartment, had been built in 1929 and had previously been home to movie stars Mickey Rourke and Rock Hudson, residents told L.A.’s KTLA TV.
